On September 9, 2019, the first Russian University Ranking(link is external) by RUR has been published. MEPhI took the second place among Russian universities. The top three universities also included Lomonosov MSU (1st place) and TSU (3rd place).
Round University Ranking (RUR) is an international University ranking, which assesses universities by 20 criteria grouped in four areas: quality of teaching (40% of the assessment of the University), research quality (40%), internationalization (10%), and financial stability (10%).
“A distinctive feature of the RUR rating is the consideration of the main University’s activities and stability in the methodology. This allows universities to monitor their development to a certain extent over a fairly long period of time, since the rating has existed for ten years. During this time MEPhI has significantly strengthened its position in the RUR global ranking, starting from 475th place in the world in 2010 and ending with 157 position in 2019,” said the rector of MEPhI Mikhail Strikhanov.
In 2019, 74 universities from 31 regions of Russia took part in the Russian version of RUR ranking.
